Summer Learning Journey (Week 1 Day 1 Activity 2)

Discovering Aotearoa

Hi Everybody! Today I will be talking about the first person who Discovered Aotearoa. If you guys didn't know the first person to Disover Aotearoa was Kupe. He might have sawed it in 1300. Now it's time to give some facts about him.

1. Kupe Navigated in Hawaiki to Aotearoa

2. In 1642 Abel Tasman came from the Netherlands.

3. Kupe was born in Auckland.

Those are the facts I know about him. Sorry it's to short. I will be talking about my Culture.

My Culture is Muslim. The language I speak is Urdu. My family comes from Pakistan. I was born in New Zealand. We celebrate Eid and Ramahdan. Thank you for Watching BYE!

    Thank you for doing week one, day one, activity two. It was really cool to read where your family is from and that you celebrate Eid and Ramadan. Have you ever visited Pakistan? I would love to know what else is important or special to you and your family (this could be other celebrations or values etc), and what language(s) you speak?

    I am Pākehā but my dad’s family comes from England and my Mum’s family comes from Scotland and Canada, which is pretty cool because it means I can go and live in all of these countries if I want to! My family is quite small and live in many different places, but I have a lot of friends and family friends who are like family to me. The most important thing about my family is that we are really open and honest and have great communication, my parents are also really loving towards me :)

    I only speak English but I would love to learn Te Reo Maori and Spanish.

    Hi Eliza I have Visited Pakistan and also you are very lucky that you can go to any countries that you want to go! It's Alright that you speak english, You know that I know more english then my language Urdu. Thank you for commenting Eliza and Izumi have a great day.
