Matariki! ☆
Hello Bloggers! Welcome back, Today I would like to talk about Matariki. If you don't know what Matariki is it is a Māori celebration. It's about having fun and celebrating the 7 sisters (stars). Yesterday, we did Matariki activities. First activity we did was making bread with Mrs Jones. We were in 3 groups. I was with Izumi, Pao, Ayo, Aysha, Nicholas and Mrs Jones. After we made fried bread it was so good! I had mine with Jam on top. It was YUMMY!!!
Next we did stop motion with Miss Daly. In stop motion we had to create Māori legends and talk about what happens in Matariki. We even had to create characters using play dough or paper. When we were done we had to do stop motion and do audio. In our video we were talking about how Māori celebrate Matariki. I liked using playdough in this activity.
Last activity was creating a kite with Mrs Law. We had to make a design with paper and color it in with pastels. We even used hot glue gun to stick the paper design on the kite. It wasn't that easy using Hot glue gun because I accidently burnt my finger! But I liked making the design!
Here are some photos!
Thank You for Reading my blog! I hope you like it BYE!

ReplyDeleteHi Aamena. I really like how you shared with us your learnings about Matariki and the fun activities you did. It made me think about having a go at making fried bread. Have you tried any of the activities at home? I also like that you added photos. Have you been enjoying the google meets with your class during the lockdown? Maybe next time you could share about some of your distance learning work. Great blogpost Aamena. Stay safe and keep smiling 🙂
