Swimming to Safety
Hi Guys, Today I will be talking about Yusra Mardini. She was a teenage girl that was born in Syria. She left in 2016 to get away from the war in Syria. She became a refugee. Yusra left Syria by boat. When the engine on the boat broke down, Yusra helped to save the lives of 20 people. Now I will be giving some facts about Yusra Mardini
1. In 2016 she was part of the Refugee Olympic Team. She is a competitive swimmer.
2. She was born on 5 March 1998.
3. She lives in Gremany Now.
Those are the facts I know. Now I have to retell the story of this brave young women in Syria. As a professional swimmer, Yusra was determined not to let any of her fellow passengers drown. A year later, Yusra’s courage, determination and strong swimming skills were recognized by the International Olympic Committee and became a member of the first ever Refugee Olympic Team. Since then, Yusra has addressed the United Nations General Assembly and met world leaders such as US President Barack Obama and Pope Francis.
This is the story and I hope you like my blog!! Bye Bye!
Buenos dias Aamena, I hope you are having a great day so far
ReplyDeleteI am Pao (As you may know me) I really like your blog post. Your blog post is very creative. You have used lot of words to describe the story. I do agree that she is a very good swimmer. It is sad that Syria is still in war. I just hope that nobody on this world was in war, but people just don't care about other people. They just care about their self. By the way.. I agree that she is a very confident swimmer with great swimming skills. I am very happy for her that she is now living peacefully in Germany.
It is very impressive how she saved 20 people. She is a very professional swimmer! Are you good at swimming? Very good blog post Aamena. I have enjoyed reading your blog post. Maybe next time you should put more detail of the story. Otherwise, great blog post. Keep your awesome work growing
Pao :-)
